Film & Digital Media School...

We're using the power of stories to help build community awareness and trust...

We support young people and communities to capture real-life insights of the transformation evolving around them.

Within 12 UK regions, our Film & Digital Media School is a not-for-profit operation dedicated to empowering communities to capture, produce and promote the indisputable evidence of positive impact achieved from the business social value support they receive.

The School is funded through business social value within the Dual Impact Collaboration Model (DICM) with public buyers. As part of their social value within contracts, businesses provide the support and resources which help us to make the School free to access for charities & social enterprises operating deep inside communities.

The School's Model

Our Film & Digital Media School exists for TWO main purposes, and is financially self-sufficient operating not-for-profit within our UK ecosystem:

  1. To provide communities with free access to industry expertise and training resources needed to help them to capture the reality of life and change taking place; helping businesses and public bodies see and share this as evidence which builds resident awareness and trust.
  2. To support the UK ecosystem membership groups to engage and collaborate with the process of dual impact storytelling; establishing much needed regional links between stakeholder groups involved with building healthier, safer and more resilient communities

In communities, about communities...

The film unit nurtures talent from within courses and establishes local teams within the Film Unit to operate within real-life activities to capture and produce personal stories of impact - from inside the dedicated work of community charities & social enterprises.

This is all about the real-life insights and stories of healthier, safer and more resilient communities - validated by the people witnessing this.
