Our ecosystem is helping communities to validate a dual impact

We exist not just to sustain community programmes and services which are are transforming the socioeconomic fabric of society, but to also prove the dual impact being made.

To be taken seriously, and regionally attract the business social value support needed over the long-term, impact research is need to prove a dual impact:

(1) Geographically proving how programmes and services are measurably building healthier, safer and more resilient communities

(2) By sustaining this impact, prove how it is measurably reducing the frontline costs of policing, healthcare, social services and criminal justice.

Within regions, we connect academics with community organisations to establish and fund longitudinal impact research activities.

Our Regional Research Hubs model connects business social value from within public contracting, into ongoing regional research activities managed through selected university partners.

Regional Activity

Our objective is to gather hard evidence of the impact being achieved from inside communities, with proof of actual socioeconomic benefits (cost reductions) to taxpayers from this.

We have an organic approach, seamlessly linking activity and outputs, to measurement and evaluation which can help shape local thinking, policy and practice for the long-term.

Civic Universities

Regionally, our ecosystem funds academia to undertake independent socioeconomic impact research, funding drawn from how business members sponsor charities & social enterprises.

Business Portals

With the UK spending c£390 billion through public procurement, there are existing business reporting portals showing social value. We help businesses use this, alongside our community validation.

Programme Outputs

Being regionally embedded through the public sector and local charities & social enterprises, we collect output data directly from front-line community activities, adding this to wider research led by regional universities and public bodies.

Cutting-edge  Research for Health Impact

The BERG F is a UK-based, internationally connected research social enterprise dedicated to improving future community health, with a disruptive approach.

Research is focused upon prevention rather than drug development, the results provided into communities to help prevent chronic inflammation and reduce increased risk of chronic illnesses.

We promote research, to let communities decide!

There is so much research, most sits on (virtual and physical shelves). This is often taken in isolation and disconnected so loses power.

We take the view that combining, understanding and sharing research is what is best for building community engagement - which for our business members sponsoring community development, means powerful brand-consumer engagement.

We ensure our business members, and the local charities & social enterprises they support, are recognised for the social impact they deliver together.
