Building Safer Communities Together (BSCT) is a UK ecosystem approach regionally connecting business social value into building healthier, safer and more resilient communities.

Regionally connecting business into proven community-impact activities transforming communities.

BSCT regionally consolidates business social value to support proven community activities provided by hundreds of established charities & social enterprises. These locally trusted and expert providers of programmes are already delivering impact, so BSCT is there to sustain and grow these vital provisions for the long-term.

Regionally supporting hundreds of established community providers & programmes.

Regionally supporting 41 UK Crime Commissioners & a network of 21 strategic units.

An Impact Ecosystem!

The Pluggin ecosystem provides the UK environment for BSCT to support communities; helping businesses regionally connect with community-led activities.

This is a communities-led environment where charities & social enterprises operate with businesses in real-time - providing a unique view of WHERE & HOW businesses are contributing to the long-term needs of UK communities.

Strategic Approach!

BSCT binds police, fire, LGA, NHS and CJS leaders, Lord Lieutenants and Crown bodies into the use of public procurement to harness social value; a joint mission for Healthier, Safer and more Resilient Communities.

Public procurement plays a central role!

We spent 2 years collaborating with public procurement leaders to adapt the ecosystem for BSCT - to harness millions in supplier social value commitments locked within £379 billion of annual public spending on goods and services.

Public procurement bodies come-together regionally to harness their commissioning to BSCT as the "evidence" of contract social value from hundreds of suppliers.

BSCT was created with Thames Valley Police & Piloted in the Thames Valley region.

In Spring 2023, BSCT opened across the Thames Valley, in just 12 weeks the ecosystem recorded £121k of business social value contributions into Thames Valley charities & social enterprises.

The UK Criminal Justice System plays a role too.

At an annual cost to the taxpayer of £8 billion, we wanted prevention to be a focus from those operating within the Criminal Justice System.

This sees us engaging legal aid firms and the private operators of prisons, custody services and probation services.

The mission is simple...

Everyone focused upon the regional process for Building Safer Communities Together across the UK.

From appointed to elected officials, to procurement teams and their suppliers everyone can join BSCT and play a role:
